Get your butt moving!

Friday, August 02, 2013

Hey RIF REVers,

Today we're looking at how to stop those sexy hips when you're running (save them for the dance floor!)

If you've had injuries in the past from knees to ankles to backs and hips you may not have thought about strengthening your butt and even if you have, to get it working properly is not as easy as it seems. The glute muscles you want to target for strengthening are responsible for the alignment of not only your hips but also your back, knees, ankles and feet. If they are working correctly it will help improve your efficiency and reduce the risk of nasty injuries that can put you out!

Whether you're running 5k or a 100k you need your glute muscles firing. In this video we look at your clams exercise which is a great way to start strengthening your butt correctly. Really focus on getting technique right for this one guys because it will give you a stable base platform when we go through harder butt strengthening exercises down the track.

Stay running,

Paul.
